About
After having children of my own, I realized how challenging it is to bring them to live concerts. Traditional music venues pose several challenges: they're not child or stroller friendly, evening concerts run too late for small children, musical selections often exceed children's attention spans, and young listeners struggle to sit quietly in formal concert settings.
Petite Concerts emerged as a solution to these barriers. We created a program to bring live, classical and multi-cultural concert experiences to young children, serving three key purposes: music education, providing local musical outings for families, and cultivating future music audiences.
Founded in 2013, Petite Concerts became a non-profit organization in July 2016. We now perform throughout New York, Connecticut, and Minnesota.
Our 30-minute interactive events are specially designed for young listeners from newborns to preschoolers. These informal, experiential concerts feature diverse musical traditions and include hands-on instrument discovery. Join us for a fun-filled musical journey!

Chi-Chi Bestmann, Founder/Executive Director

A native of Taiwan, Chi-Chi Lin Bestmann is a dynamic conductor and violist. She’s known for crafting engaging concerts for young listeners and has a diverse and accomplished background in performing, conducing and teaching. Currently based in Minnesota, she holds the role of conductor for the JCC Symphony, MacPhail Northside Youth Orchestra and is a faculty member at MacPhail Center for Music. Chi-Chi enjoys cooking, reading, swimming, listening to music, walking her puppy, Ari and making Chinese dumplings with her daughters.
